Anton Marini (vade) is a video performance artist and multimedia engineer.

Marini’s artwork focuses on improvisation and realtime manipulation of video. He plays, bends, rips, tears, shreds, morphs, molds, glitches, and synthesizes pixels to form new visual experiences.

He has created award-winning software (Stereo3D CAT), industry video standards (Syphon), and mobile publishing platforms (Ultravisual). He has co-created plugins for After Effects, Premier, Final Cut Pro, and Motion

Marini is a former artist in residence at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center and researcher in residence at NYU’s Brooklyn Experimental Media Center. He has also taught at Parsons/New School Design and Technology Department and performed and taught workshops at many new media and video festivals around the world. He designs open source tools to help facilitate the realtime video performance medium.

 


 

Second Sight: An Exhibition of New Approaches to Video (March 7th to March 9th, 2014)

Eyebeam In Collaboration with Moving Image Art Fair

Held on March 7-9, 2014, at Eyebeam. The exhibition featured an Augmented Reality performance, “The Alices” by Claudia Hart, Eyebeam Alum.

In addition, participating artists presenting their new work included Julia ChristensenKatie TornAnton MariniWyatt NiehausElisa Kreisinger, and Jae Minard. These works provided a glimpse into what the future holds for the moving image through immersive pieces, installation, video, and performance, from Eyebeam’s cutting-edge perspective.

Eyebeam models a new approach to artist-led creation for the public good; we are a non-profit that provides significant professional support and money to exceptional artists for the realization of important ideas that wouldn’t exist otherwise. Nobody else is doing this.
