Ben Leduc-Mills is a Senior UX Research at GitLab.

Leduc-Mills works at the intersection of user experience, design, and engineering.

Previously, he worked as a Senior Experience Design Researcher as part of the platform services and components group at Autodesk, researching the intricacies of the developer experience, API design, platform usability principles, and analytics maturity.

Leduc-Mills was also a member of Google ATAP as a software prototyper and user researcher for project Soli, and before that as an R&D Swiss Army Knife for SparkFun Electronics.

Leduc-Mills holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with an emphasis in human-computer interaction. His research interests revolved around making computation and construction accessible, practical, sustainable, and fun for ‘beginners’ – regardless of age or socioeconomic background.

He also hold a master’s degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU, where he designed and produced a variety of physical computing projects (interactive drawing machines, punching bags that yell at you, a hoodie that displays messages in thermochromic ink, the usual).
