Laurel Ptak is a curator, educator, and writer based in New York City who has held diverse roles at non-profit art institutions in the US and internationally, including Art in General (New York), the Guggenheim Museum (New York), MoMA PS 1 Contemporary Art Center (New York), Museo Tamayo (Mexico City), Tensta Konsthall (Stockholm), among others.

Ptak is a co-founder of the Art+Feminism Wikipedia-Edit-A-Thon which confronts gender disparities online and their effects on public forms of knowledge, with events organized yearly at the Museum of Modern Art and co-organized by thousands of art institutions, civic institutions and universities around the world.

Eyebeam models a new approach to artist-led creation for the public good; we are a non-profit that provides significant professional support and money to exceptional artists for the realization of important ideas that wouldn’t exist otherwise. Nobody else is doing this.
